Father Engagement
Father engagement specialists (FES)
work one-on-one with dads involved
in the child welfare system. They are
a resource for dads who want to play
a positive role in the lives of their
children. Their work picks up where
the former DADS program left off.
Father engagement specialists are
also committed to listening and using their knowledge to guide dads to meet their goals
Tutoring
Tutoring is provided to raise the academic performance of school aged youth to a level consistent with the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) Academic standards. Services shall be provided in a manner that is age and developmentally appropriate, and consistent with the child’s academic and learning style, interpersonal characteristics, and special needs. Services are provided at school including collaborate with teachers on tasks, at the home, or community.
Parent Education
Parent education programs focus on enhancing parenting practices and behaviors, such as developing and practicing positive discipline techniques, learning age-appropriate child development skills and milestones, promoting positive play and interaction between parents and children, and locating and accessing community services and supports.
Future Services
Homebuilders
HOMEBUILDERS® is an evidence-based program designed to strengthen families in order to prevent unnecessary out-of-home placement or return children from foster, group and residential care. Families served by this intensive, in-home, family therapy model have children in immanent risk of placement, or have children in placement that cannot be reunified without intensive services.
Truancy Intervention
We utilize best practices in addressing truancy are to utilize a wellness approach of early identification, intervention and referral to community or school based programs. The use of a school-level team to address early intervention is the core component for our Truancy Intervention Program.
START Family Mentor
Family Mentoring is a comprehensive approach that matches trained volunteers with graduated or at risk families for a sustained and productive mentoring relationship. Mentors work with families to help them address day to day issues like budgeting, parenting and more in a supportive, peer relationship.
